"What is a restricted database and how do I know which ones are restricted?"

answer:

Cornell University Library subscribes to numerous fee-based databases. Due to our contractual obligations with these vendors, remote use of these databases is "restricted" to members of the Cornell Community (faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students). Visitors using a computer from inside of one of the Cornell Libraries has on-site access to most resources and materials that are needed for professional or scholarly research purposes. Exceptions include Capital IQ, Passport GMID, Gartner, Mintel, and Wharton Research Data Service (WRDS).
